From inside the game, which is the fastest way

Open Mechanica, tap your profile, and choose Delete Account. If you are playing as a guest and have not linked an account, the same button is called Restart Game, and it deletes exactly the same things. You will be asked to confirm twice, and the second step asks you to type a word so it cannot happen by accident.

Deletion runs immediately and cannot be undone.

If you cannot open the game

Write to contact@citostudio.nl from the address of the account you linked, or tell us your username. We will delete the account and confirm when it is done. We answer within one month.

What gets deleted

• Your game record: your workshop, bays, crew, jobs, inventory, transaction history and everything else attached to your account.
• Your referral records.
• Your sign-in account, including the email address held by our sign-in provider.
• Your usage analytics history.

What we keep, and why

Purchase records. Tax and accounting rules require us to keep them, and that is not ours to shorten. They are retained with your game record detached, so they no longer point at you.

Two things worth knowing before you do it

Coins you paid for are not refunded, and they cannot be moved to another account.

If you have a membership, deleting your account does not cancel it. Subscriptions are billed by the App Store or Google Play, not by us, so you have to cancel it in your store account or it keeps charging you. On iOS that is Apple's subscription settings; on Android it is Google Play's.

Deleting the app is not the same thing

Your progress lives on our servers so that it survives a new phone. Removing the app leaves your account exactly where it was. If you never linked an Apple or Google account, though, nothing lets you sign back into it afterwards.
